REV. FRED P. BACHMAN, Founding Pastor, Apostle
Born in Detroit, Michigan, and raised in Tucson, Arizona, Fred Bachman became a Christian at age nine and began actively preaching at just sixteen years of age. After attending Central Bible Institute in Springfield, Missouri, he traveled nationally as an evangelist, seeing countless lives changed and miracles performed by the power of God. It was during a revival service in Phenix City, Alabama, that he met Jo Ann Johnston. The first time he ever saw her, God spoke and said, 'She is to be your wife.' That's exactly what happened in just a few months' time. Fred and Jo Ann then entered into a season of raising a family and pastoring in the Assemblies of God denomination. While pastoring the fastest-growing church in Russell County, Alabama, God directed the Bachmans to sell their possessions and return to the full-time evangelistic ministry. For the next seven years, Bachman Family Ministries and 'Aunt Jo & Her Helpers' crisscrossed North America, leading boys, girls and entire families into the salvation experience and the fullness of the Holy Spirit. They were among the most sought after evangelistic ministries by Assembly of God churches, camps and conferences; they ministered among other denominations as well. It was during this time that the Bachmans' sons developed a music ministry that continues in various forms to this day.
Fred Bachman planted Living Praise Worship Center as a cutting-edge, prophetic-truth fellowship in 1985. Rev. Bachman was ordained by Evangel Fellowship International (EFI) in February 1987. His wife, Jo Ann, is also ordained by EFI. As Sr. Pastor, he raised up many spiritual sons into Prophetic Ministry, established Living Praise Disipleship of Ministries and oversaw ministries that specialized in leadership.
Having been recognized as having an apostolic call to the nations, Apostle Bachman served for several years on the Board of Elders of Evangel Fellowship International. Heavily involved in worldwide missions, he has literally traveled the globe - from China to Russia to the Fiji Islands (and many countries in between) encouraging, training and equipping pastors, missionaries and nationals on foreign harvest fields. Apostle Bachman carries a vision for churches to make an impact on their local area and throughout the world for the sake of the Gospel in a practical way that reaches people where they live. In 2003, EFI Bishop Houston Miles officially recognized Rev. Bachman as the Apostle of the House. At that time Apostle Bachman established the Apostolic Resource Center, a multi-faceted ministry that operates out of Living Praise Worship Center. In addition to giving headship to the overall ministries of Living Praise, he spends much of his time these days in support of The Faith For Healing Center, a ministry housed on the campus of LPWC that reaches out to persons with life-altering or life-threatening illnesses with the Bible message of Divine Healing for ALL.
Married since 1961, Apostle Fred and Pastor Jo Ann Bachman also oversee a 'flock' of three adult children and six grandchildren.
